CASTO, one of the country’s leading real estate organizations announced today that demolition is officially underway for the redevelopment of New Market, located at the northeast quadrant of I-270 and Sawmill Road.
The shopping center currently has a tenant roster that includes Golfsmith and Lifestyle Family Fitness center and will additionally host two sit-down, national restaurant chains, as well as an 80– room hotel on newly created outparcels along I-270. The development allows for up to an additional 40,000 square feet of retail space.
Demolition started this week on the 115,000 square foot building which included the former Comp USA store, as well as the previously existed mall.
“CASTO intends to turn over possession of the outparcels to the new restaurants by October in order for them to commence construction,” stated Sarah Heinrichs, Spokesperson for CASTO. “Please stay tuned for official announcements of the restaurants and hotel user.”
