CASTO PURCHASES 45.5 ACRE COMMERCIAL SITE
Thursday, March 19, 2015
Former DeFore Milliken Plant site to become 300,000 square foot mixed-use project
OCONEE COUNTY

CASTO, one of the countrys leading real estate services firm, announced today the purchase of 45.5 acres of land from NewSpring Church, located at the intersection of Tiger Blvd. and Pendleton Road, at the western entrance of Clemson University, one of the countrys top 20 public universities.  NewSpring Church was represented by Broadstreet Partners out of Greenville, SC.

CASTO plans to create a mixed-use development consisting of 300,000 square feet, named Hartwell Village.  Hartwell Village will be the first power retail center located in the Clemson market area and will contain new-to-the-market tenants, including a theater, restaurants and national retail tenants.

Located on the shores of Lake Hartwell and situated near the border of Pickens and Oconee Counties, Hartwell Village will draw customers from five under served counties in South Carolina, as well as north Georgia, stated Shannon Dixon, Executive Vice President of Development for CASTOs Southeast operations.

Anticipated timing includes the opening of NewSpring Churchs Clemson campus to be completed by Fall  2016, with the mixed use development to occur in 2016/2017.
