TOWN & COUNTRY ANNOUNCES T.J. MAXX AND MORE COMING SOON
Thursday, March 26, 2015
Kettering, OH

CASTO, together with joint partner Skilken, two leading real estate development and services firms, announced today that Town & Country Shopping Center will be welcoming T.J. Maxx as its newest anchor.

The addition of T.J. Maxx is part of a large renovation project Town & Country announced late last year.  T.J. Maxx will occupy 23,000 square feet and will be located 'front and center'.  Along with this exciting news, Joseph A. Bank will be relocating and expanding their storefront, on the heels of Trader Joes announcing their expansion in the shopping center.  Other improvements will include a new pedestrian breezeway and outparcel being created.  The breezeway will connect the Mall to the Village Shops and include seating areas for gathering.  The new outparcel is being created for a future user and will be located at the corner of Stroop & Shroyer Roads.  Lastly, ownership is finalizing discussions with a national junior anchor to occupy nearly 14,000 square feet adjacent to T.J. Maxx.

Town & Country has undergone numerous renovations over the years.  The center's grand opening was held in 1951, on 20-acres formerly used for farming.   The cost of the original structure was $6 million dollars.  In 1960, buildings A & C were added to the Village Shops, along with the area that is now Stein Mart. In 1975, the storefronts were enclosed including five boutique shops and a large gourmet restaurant. In 1986, the former Metropolitan store was remodeled to accommodate 14 shops into what is now known as the Atrium.
