Associate Spotlight: Ellyse Sophocleous

This month, we’re highlighting Ellyse Sophocleous, whose six-year journey with the company has been shaped by continuous learning, diverse experiences, and a passion for giving back.

Throughout her time at CASTO, Ellyse has contributed to new developments, lease-ups, community rebranding efforts, and commercial real estate while earning her real estate license and expanding her expertise across the business. She credits her colleagues and mentors for encouraging her growth and helping her build a rewarding career rooted in collaboration.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ellyse is passionate about community service and is an active member of the Community Impact Committee. Read on to learn more about the accomplishments she’s most proud of, the values she hopes continue for the next 100 years, and what excites her about the future of the real estate industry.

In honor of our 100th anniversary, what’s one CASTO tradition or value you hope continues for the next 100 years?
I hope CASTO’s commitment to giving back through volunteering and community service continues for the next 100 years. As we strive toward our collective goal of 1,926 service hours this year, it’s been incredible to watch that number grow through the hard work and effort of all our associates. What amazes me the me most isn’t just what we accomplish through CASTO’s hosted events, but the philanthropic efforts my peers pursue on their own time, outside of events organized by the company. That kind of individual initiative says a lot about the company culture here, and it’s something I hope future generations of CASTO associates carry forward.

What accomplishment at CASTO are you most proud of?
It’s hard to isolate just one thing, because so much of my proudest work moments have come from being hands-on across a variety of projects. I’ve had the opportunity to assist with new developments and lease-ups, watch the reimagination and rebranding of older communities to help them compete in a newer market, obtain my real estate license, and transition to the commercial side of the business, where I’ve gotten to experience an entirely new part of the industry. More recently, getting involved with the Community Impact Committee has given me a chance to contribute in a different way. CASTO has been my home for the past six years, and I’m continuously amazed by the growth and flexibility the company embodies and encourages among its teams. As an associate, that kind of environment sparks curiosity and fuels further growth — it makes you want to keep pushing yourself. So honestly, the accomplishment I’m most proud of will always be the next one.

How have your colleagues influenced your experience at CASTO? 
My colleagues have been everything. From day one, the people around me have shaped how I’ve grown, both professionally and personally. I wouldn’t be in the position I am in today without the connections I’ve built, the guidance I’ve received, and the support of peers and managers alike. Whether it was someone taking the time to answer questions when I was new, or a manager pushing me toward an opportunity I wasn’t sure I was ready for, those relationships have made all the difference in my career journey here.

What excites you most about the future of the industry? 
There are quite a few things, but right now we’re in the middle of a real technology boom, and I’m genuinely curious to see how that plays out across our industry. The growing focus on automation is going to influence not just how we operate day-to-day, but how productive and efficient we can become as an organization. It’s an interesting time to be in this business — there’s a lot of room to rethink how things have traditionally been done, and I’m excited to see where that takes us.

Tell us about a hobby, passion, or volunteer activity that’s important to you. 
In my downtime, I play on two soccer teams. Soccer has been a constant throughout my life — it’s given me a sense of discipline, teamwork, and community that I think carries over into how I approach my work. Staying physically active through the sport isn’t just a hobby for me; it’s something I’m genuinely passionate about, and it keeps me balanced outside of the office.
