Tell us about your background with CASTO.Â
I have been on the HR team with CASTO for nearly 4 years now. I can’t believe it has been that long already, I have learned and grown so much since starting here in July of 2021! I get to work on a variety of things, but my primary focus is processing payroll and leading our corporate recruiting efforts.
What do you like best about CASTO? What makes CASTO different?Â
I think CASTO is committed to its people above everything else and it shows in the culture here. Personally, CASTO has supported many of my professional development interests including attending a wide variety of training and development sessions, helping me get my SHRM-CP certification, and going through the Elevate CBUS leadership course to name a few. I feel like I am really supported to learn and grow as much as I want, and I really value that. I also really enjoy all the people I get to work with; the environment is creative and fun here and it makes coming to work feel enjoyable.Â
What service or project have you liked working on the most while at CASTO?Â
I think my biggest project I have worked on was transitioning our HRIS/payroll system from Paycor to ADP last year. We had been with Paycor for about 15 years, so it was a huge undertaking for our team. Our goals were to enhance our associates experience with more intuitive onboarding, improved self-service options, better payroll and benefit management. It also helped us streamline some of our day-to-day functions within our department and allowed us to focus on new goals and initiatives. There was a bit of a learning curve, but it was worth it!
Share a little bit about your expertise in the industry.Â
I had no experience in this space prior to working at CASTO. It has been very interesting to learn about the real estate industry. There is so much more than I ever could have imagined! It is cool to be a part of a company that is actively developing the community you live in and getting to see it happen. I’ve enjoyed seeing all the new projects and properties CASTO has completed since I have been here and look forward to learning more in the future.
What changes or trends do you see happening in your area of expertise?Â
There are so many areas within HR that are always developing, better or new employee benefits, more career development opportunities and trainings for our associates, evolving HR technologies to create an improved experience and I think the list goes on and on! Right now, there is a big focus on AI in every industry so I am very curious to see how those technology improvements will impact HR as a whole and some of my job duties. It is exciting, and I look forward to seeing what comes next!
