CASTO Breaks Ground on Thurber Village Redevelopment

Columbus, OH – CASTO, along with project stakeholders from Lucky’s Market, the City of Columbus and surrounding communities, gathered today to announce that construction will start on the highly anticipated redevelopment of Thurber Village in the coming days.

CASTO’s commercial and residential development teams have been working on the redevelopment plan for Thurber Village for over three years. Following the exciting announcement of Lucky’s Market anchoring the retail component, the groundbreaking ceremony marks the start of this exciting project. Event attendees heard from project leaders on the development.

“Today’s gathering was an exciting milestone for CASTO, Lucky’s, and CVS.  It recognizes the hard work of many people over the last few years who have contributed to this redevelopment effort.  While we still have a lot of work left to do, it was great to take a moment to celebrate the stakeholders invested in the project,” said Eric Leibowitz, VP, Development & Leasing for CASTO. ”Our team is grateful that we were able to take a moment to acknowledge the CASTO associates, our partnership with the Saltzmans and Lucky’s team members, our talented team of consultants and contractors, along with the surrounding neighborhood and City of Columbus, all of whom have allowed us to be in this position to start construction.”

Thurber Village is heading into the initial stages of redevelopment to transform the neighborhood center into a dynamic mixed-use project. The mixed-use center will include a ± 13,000 square foot CVS at the corner of Buttles Avenue and Neil Avenue, and the ± 21,000 square foot Lucky’s Market at the corner of Collins Avenue and Neil Avenue. The development will also include 225 apartment units with structured parking situated on the western half of the site.
