CASTO to Provide Complimentary Bike-Share Memberships for New Development

Nov 18, 2016

Columbus, OH — CASTO announced today that they will provide complimentary CoGo bike share memberships to residents of their new Merion Village development, The Barrett Urban Apartments.

CoGo and CASTO worked together to bring a bike share station to the corner of Thurman Avenue and Bruck Street, on The Barrett site. The new station will be deployed over the next couple of days and complimentary memberships will be available to residents upon move-in.

“We see this as an opportunity to connect residents of The Barrett to surrounding neighborhoods, and a way to advocate for alternative transportation methods available in Columbus,” said Hilary Deason, Marketing & Communications Specialist at CASTO. “Our residents can hop on a CoGo and be at Staufs on Third in minutes, or ride to a station and take COTA’s Cbus to the Short North or Downtown.”

The Barrett project includes 51 adaptive-reuse and 52 townhouse apartments for rent, and 22 single family homes for sale in Merion Village. The first apartment buildings are expected to be completed next month.

“CoGo is excited to have the opportunity to partner with The Barrett to provide affordable and environmentally friendly transportation to their residents. We are always looking for creative ways to partner with developers and business owners, as these are always a win-win for the City of Columbus, local communities and the bike share program,” said Derek Wurst, General Manager of CoGo

Built in 1898, The Barrett was originally Columbus South High School, and is the third historic adaptive reuse project in Columbus for CASTO.
