River & Rich Announces Franklinton Arts District Art-Project Partnership

Columbus, OH — CASTO, along with development partners, Robert Weiler Company, Kelley Companies, Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority and Smoot Construction, have partnered with the Franklinton Arts District (FAD) for the ALLOY ArtSpace project. River & Rich is excited to announce the artists for the first phase of the project.

The murals will have 10 spaces on the front of the buildings facing Rich Street and one large-scale mural located on the back of the building, along the pedestrian alley. Artwork for the first phase will begin on September 24.

The artists include Maureen Clark, Ben Slobodien, Sarah Hout, Dan Gerdeman, Larry Doyle, David Denniston, Kyle Knapp, Daniel Rona, Tiffany Christopher, and Thom Glick. The artist for the large mural located on the back of the building is Steve Ehret.

The second phase of the ALLOY ArtSpace project is anticipated to begin Spring 2019 and will include an additional eight murals along Rich Street.

In addition to the FAD ALLOY ArtSpaces, River & Rich has committed space inside the buildings for 15 murals from artists’ panels auctioned at the Art for Franklinton Fundraiser.

With the scheduled opening of River & Rich in November 2018, it will include 230 one and two-bedroom garden and townhouse-style apartments, 25,000 square feet of retail space and a two-story 292-space parking garage. To learn more about River & Rich, visit riverandrichcolumbus.com.
